ARIZONA!!

Well, in case any of you haven't heard, we are moving to Arizona! Aaron got a job transfer to the Mesa office, and he starts March 28th. We are thrilled beyond belief to be going. We have always wanted to move back there.
Spencer and I will be staying behind, so Spencer can finish up this school year. Hopefully by then we will have sold our house and we can move down to join Aaron ASAP.
Of course, we invite any of you to come and visit us down there. There will always be an open guest room, and sunny warm weather to entice you.

Spencer's 5th Grade Program

Spencer's 5th grade program was last week. They worked so hard on it. It was all about being an American (in case you couldn't tell). They sang so many wonderful songs, and paid tribute to all 50 states, and all military personnel. There wasn't a dry eye by the end of the program. It was really neat to be able to salute all branches of the military, and thank them for what they have done for us. Spencer got a special little part in the program. He was portraying the war of New Orleans. He was very excited to be able to hold a muskett (especially in school, where guns are not allowed, even at halloween) This was the best part of the program for him. He was so handsome standing up there, all dressed up. He also got to do a 4-square but, he was on the opposite side I was on, so no pics of that. But rest assured, it was totally cute! January 2009

We have had a GREAT year so far! We just had a nice little break from school and during that time our friends came to visit us from Phoenix! They left the nice warm 75-80 degree weather, to come to the freezing 18-38 degree weather. Burrrrr!
We did have some fun though. We went snowboarding at Brighton,
went bowling at Fat Cats,
rode on the bob sled track, up at the Olympic Park, in Park City,
went to the Olive Garden, ate pizza, stayed home and made fools of ourselves, and sang it up with Sing Star, watched the Arizona Cardinals make it to the SuperBowl (CONGRATS!), and watched SNL, (its tradition). We also stayed up way, way to late every night, laughing, joking, and eating. We are not as young as we once were, but we sure had a blast trying to convince our bodies other wise!! We always have a blast whenever they come up.
Spencer and Britney, (their daughter) got along really well this trip. They were like two peas in a pod. We heard so much laughing and snickering and playing and planning we couldn't help but laugh ourselves (wishing we were that young again).
After all that fun, we were very sad to see them go, but here's hoping for more trips, or better yet, for us to move down there, so we can have fun ALL the time!!!

Christmas at the Tracy's

Merry Christmas! I'll start with Christmas Eve, Spencer is ready for bed in his "a little nice, mostly naughty" shirt. I think he may be too excited to sleep (even though he knows all the 'tricks' of Christmas). Good thing he took a sleeping pill...lol It's Christmas morning and Spencer patiently waited till 8am to open his presents. Of course, he woke us up at 7am but, we stayed in bed for an hour, trying to wake up. We stayed up till after 2:30 am the night before watching Mamma Mia. He was sooo excited to run down and see all his presents. He was super excited to get an iPod shuffle, and a wii Nerf game

Not so excited for a men's grooming kit. (but seriously, he is about at that age where he needs it! And glad to get some snow boots, finally, so he can sled with out frozen toes,

Of course, he got some other things, stuffed in his stocking, but all the important things are documented. Except the presents he got from his grandparents.

He got a really cool, super grown up electric powered Razor scooter from his grandpa Jones and Laura. He is extremely excited to put this together and charge it so he can ride around the neighborhood. He also recieved some neat world record books too. (I've been reading these all day)

He also got a really neat tool set from his grandpa Ed, (just in time to help dad build shelves in the garage) and a wii game that he has been waiting for for ages, Thanks grandma Lorilee! Aaron was really sweet and thoughtful this year and although we PROMISED we wouldn't get presents for each other (except for guitar hero, world tour) he gave me 2 pictures sketched by a friend of his. One is of Spencer, the other is of me on our wedding day. They are really amazing pictures. They look so real and lifelike. It was very unexpected and very much appreciated.
I hope you all had a wonderful, marvelous christmas this year. I know we did.

The Holidays...

We started the holidays off with a bang! (of chocolate, that is)... This is me and my mom making our Christmas chocolates and pictures of how they turned out.... Quite delicious if I do say so myself. We started in early November, and have been working like mad women ever since. (We made over 200 boxes...crazy)
YUM!
We also went to our annual Thanksgiving party in Phoenix, AZ, where we stay with the most wonderful, fun, and amazing friends anyone could ask for! We also got to go to a hockey game out there, where Amanda totally hooked us up with a game suite, special dinner passes, (for only the most important guests)
and F-U-N, FUN!
We had a delicious turkey and all the fixin's for Thanksgiving dinner, and as always a great time, visiting and watching our kids really get along!
Merry Christmas to everyone of our family and friends. We have been so busy this year, I didnt quite get to Christmas cards, but we love you all and wish your holidays are as good as ours!
This is me and Aaron at the Neil Diamond concert last week. It was AMAZING and wonderful and sexy. Such a great voice, and a wonderful, entertaining concert!

I was Tagged!

Okie dokie, I was tagged by my friend Shannon. I have to post my 4th picture in my 4th folder in my pictures file on my computer... It is of Spencer during one of the many trips we took to Yellowstone 2 years ago. We had such a great time! If you haven't been, you should really put it on your list of things to do. You could literally spend days and days, hiking, driving around, seeing the amazing animals and watching the beautiful waterfalls and water pots around. Now I tag Lori, Mindy and Ali!

Broken Everything!

Seriously, why does everything have to break. I was trying to get my chocolates done early this year with my mom, but we discovered that our stupid tempering machine is broken. This is a necessity, so when we dip our chocolates, they don't turn white. We just bought it for $500 last year, so why is it broken... we have no idea. So those of you looking forward to chocolates, may have to wait another year, unless we can get it fixed asap.
As if that wasn't enough to ruin my weekend, our water heater broke. So we couldn't do chocolates, even if our machine worked, because we would have no water to clean up. geez.
Aaron, my awesome husband, went to install another one the same day, but has had difficulty getting the pilot light to work, so he went online for some help, and wouldn't you know, that specific water heater has major problems with the pilot light, there is even a class action lawsuit going on about it. CRAZY, I tell you. So back he goes to get another one. (after 2 days of work) and I head to my moms with my son, so we can shower, since we haven't showered for 2 days! gross! (Also, my tire on my car is flat, I still need to fix that, stupid nail.)
On a good note though. Spencer thought the box we brought home with the water heater in it was the coolest thing ever. He has been playing in it for 2 days, and wanted to sleep in it too.
He always has a great positive attitude. I have no idea where he got that from. He must have been switched at birth. lol
