Broken Everything!

Seriously, why does everything have to break. I was trying to get my chocolates done early this year with my mom, but we discovered that our stupid tempering machine is broken. This is a necessity, so when we dip our chocolates, they don't turn white. We just bought it for $500 last year, so why is it broken... we have no idea. So those of you looking forward to chocolates, may have to wait another year, unless we can get it fixed asap.
As if that wasn't enough to ruin my weekend, our water heater broke. So we couldn't do chocolates, even if our machine worked, because we would have no water to clean up. geez.
Aaron, my awesome husband, went to install another one the same day, but has had difficulty getting the pilot light to work, so he went online for some help, and wouldn't you know, that specific water heater has major problems with the pilot light, there is even a class action lawsuit going on about it. CRAZY, I tell you. So back he goes to get another one. (after 2 days of work) and I head to my moms with my son, so we can shower, since we haven't showered for 2 days! gross! (Also, my tire on my car is flat, I still need to fix that, stupid nail.)
On a good note though. Spencer thought the box we brought home with the water heater in it was the coolest thing ever. He has been playing in it for 2 days, and wanted to sleep in it too.
He always has a great positive attitude. I have no idea where he got that from. He must have been switched at birth. lol

The First Snowball...

Spencer was really excited when it started snowing. He couldn't wait to make the first snowball of the season. Although the snow didn't stay very long on the ground, we have cute pictures to remind ourselves how stinkin cold it gets here... lol, and what we have to look forward to.

Election Night

Spencer, being in 5th grade has been talking about the 2008 election for about a month. He is learning about it in his class at school, and his teacher is really involved and has a love of the United States Election and the process it goes through. Spencer has been excited and looking forward to this day for awhile. His homework tonight, which he thinks is the coolest thing in the world, is to watch TV and find out about how the election turned out. He is tracking every state, and the percentange of the votes. So funny. We decided to put a blanket out and eat dinner in front of the TV(which we NEVER do, so this was cool). Below is Spencer eating dessert and watching the election. (Spencer would have voted for Obama, just for the record, he has no idea why...lol)

October

I have to say that this was not as busy of a month as I thought it might be. We did have 4 birthdays to celebrate, one trip to go on, and a holiday to celebrate, but all in all, it turned out to be a pleasant month. Halloween is always fun around here, however, I forgot to take a picture of Spencer in his Halloween costume. Thankfully my step-dad got one, but I will not be able to post it as of yet. He was the "scream" character if anyone wants to know.
Aaron's birthday (36 yrs), and Spencer's birthday (11 yrs), were both this month. Pictures of Spencers birthday are below, however, since we don't really celebrate Aarons birthday, there are no pics. (We did however go to St. George for his birthday and had a blast down there)
Thank you Lori and Glenn for the Bionicles. He was jumping up and down when he got them!!
Aaron and I went to a fun Halloween party, (I was a pirate, he was the Grinch)and I went to a witches night with my mom and sisters in law... That's about it for October, stay tuned for NOVEMBER!!

September

September has been a fun month for us. I feel like I have been going, going, going, just like the energizer bunny. With work at the school, work for the dr. office, and PTA Secretary, and managing the house, I am a bit overwhelmed. Good overwhelmed, but overwhelmed, nonetheless. (especially with getting sick for a week and a half, but I'm better now)
Here are some of the activities the last month.
I took Spencer to a Lego Convention. He was so excited, counting down the days till it was time to go. We had been to one before, but the Lego people didn't show up, so he was SUPER excited about this one!! Below are pictures of the different Lego statues that were there. Pretty amazing. The other ones are of Spencer building his own lego design, and getting to put it in the "lego United States"( It will be in a future lego magazine) and one of the car he built for a car race. Quite a fun and amazing experience, if you ever get to go to one.
We also went to the Utah State Fair. We had all the usual foods and fun. Funnel cakes, Cotton candy, hot dogs, rides, etc. We took Jake, so Spencer had someone to have fun with. Spencers favorite rides were the Moby Dick ride, and the Gravatron. I think he rode the Gravatron over 15 times. This is a ride that goes round and round at a very fast rate. I'm a little surprised he didn't get brain damage...lol
We also went to the Oktober fest, at Snowbird. We had yummy brats and potato cakes, and Spencer had a blast going on the alpine slide, and the mechanical bull.

AUGUST

Well, August has been a very busy month for us. I figure it is about time to blog about it. I have had people ask me to update it, so here I go... We went camping the first weekend in August up at Pine View, which was really fun. We enjoyed the sun and water. Spencer was digging a hole in the beach the ENTIRE time we were there. He was filthy by the end of the night. He loved it though, so we loved it cause it kept him busy. He even feel asleep on the beach by his hole cause it tuckered him out so much...lol Unfortunately, I forgot my camera that weekend, so you get to see none of it. Way to go Shannon. The next weekend, my friend Cindy and I took the kids on a trip to Las Vegas for the weekend, to check on her apartment there. She was in the process of moving back to Utah. We went to FAO Schwartz, the mile mall, Trampoline world, among other things.
The following week, Aaron, Spencer and I went to Phoenix to visit our friends, Casey and Amanda. We had a fun time seeing them again, and are eagerly awaiting our next trip during Thanksgiving. A few days after that, I took another trip to Las Vegas with Cindy and our kids, to help her move all her stuff up here. Aaron flew down over the weekend and helped us drive the monstrous truck and trailer back to SLC. We had a exciting and exhausting time there. We took the kids to see the M&M factory, FAO Swartz (again), stopped by Planet Hollywood and the mile mall there (again), saw the Bellagio gardens, Caesar’s Palace, The Luxor, and Mandalay Bay. We did a lot of walking that day, and wore the boys out.
The day after we came home, Spencer started his first day of 5th grade. He has an awesome teacher this year. He really likes school. He was so excited for his first day of school, that he woke up at 6am, showered, gelled his hair, dressed in his finest school clothes, made himself breakfast, and was itching to go to school before I even woke up!! LOL. I was so proud. I hope it lasts all year. Well. That’s about it for August. I did get a job at Spencer’s school. They called and asked if I wanted to work there part time, and I said sure. I am also the PTA Secretary, so I will be at the school just as much as Spencer, if not more. We are all excited to have started school and are looking forward to all the fun things in the upcoming year.
